Nylon

GEHR Nylon®

Nylon shows both a high thermostability (temperature resistant from -40 °C to approx. +100 °C) and high stiffness, hardness and toughness. These are some of the main characteristics. Due to the fact, that the good mechanical characteristics will be achieved only after conditioning, this material must be conditioned again after annealing. In addition, this conditioning occurs with a longer storage in air automatically.

Properties:

  • high strength and stiffness
  • high impact and notching impact strength
  • high heat deflection temperature
  • good at dampening
  • good glide and damping ability
  • good chemical stability against organic solvents and fuels
  • size alteration by humidity absorption must be considered
  • dimension stability, electrical and mechanical properties may become affected by absorbing moisture or water

Applications:

Bearing parts (good sliding properties), gear wheels, pump parts, sliding rails, castors (reduction of the noise level), fittings.

GEHR Nylon 6 xt® (extruded)

Very tough (also in cold condition), high hardness.

GEHR Nylon 6.6®

Polyamide with the highest hardness, rigidity, a good resistance to wear and heat deflection temperature.

GEHR Nylon 6.6-30GF®

The 30% glass fibre reinforced Nylon 6.6 has an improved dimensional stability, a very high stiffness and heat resistance that allows further uses.

EcoGehr">EcoGehr Nylon 6.10®

is obtained from the oil of the castor oil seed and is therefore based over more than 60 % on renewable resources.

GEHR Nylon 12 TR®

Many components in optical applications can be realized by the transparency and the high dynamic strength.

  • high stress-cracking resistance
  • very high toughness
  • good weather resistance

GEHR Nylon 6 G® (cast)

Very stress-relieved and high-molecular Nylon 6. Properties similar to Nylon 6.

GEHR Nylon 6 G-Oil®

Nylon 6 G Oil has a fine crystalline structure with non wear and tear and is selflubricating. The high resistance to wear and tear and the remarkable sliding properties can be further improved by adding oil, lubricants and stabilizers.
